Please find below steps to complete the installation.

*Note: Before going to install any version of Magento, Please check below link to download your favorite Magento version with Sample data or without Sample data.

Step 1: 

First, you need to know the requirements for Magento 2 installation. When you download the Magento, you should be having the matched Web server, database, and PHP configuration for respective Magento version. 

You can find below the link to check the prerequisites o mageno2.

For more information about prerequisites of Magento 2, read in http://devdocs.magento.com/guides/v2.0/install-gde/system-requirements-2.0-tech.html.

If you choose version 2.1, you can read in https://devdocs.magento.com/guides/v2.1/install-gde/system-requirements-tech.html

If you choose version 2.2, you can read in https://devdocs.magento.com/guides/v2.2/install-gde/system-requirements-tech.html

In this Tutorial, we use Magento Community Edition 2.1.15 with XAMPP Php version 5.6.39, but you can try other versions of XAMPP need to check, which meets the requirements of your version of Magento 2.

Step 2: 

If you don’t have XAMPP server, Going to below link to download the server.


After installing the XAMPP Server, Open and run the Apache and Mysql Server.


When both Apache and MySQL have a green background, its ready to work.

Step 3:

Now going to XAMPP default location C:\xampp\htdocs and create a new folder named as “Magento2”. Extract and download the file from above link into this new folder location.

Step 4: 

Open the browser, to search in the bar as http://localhost/magento2. (magento2 as folder name)


Click on Agree and Setup Magento button.

Step 5: 

In this step, going to check all compatibility of Magento2

Click on the Readiness Check. If you pass all the checks, you can continue. If you not pass, fix the error and continue.


PHP Extensions Check: The usual missing extensions are xsl and intl. To resolve this, search extension=php_intl.dll as well as extension=php_xsl.dll in php.ini (C:\xampp\php\php.ini), then both remove the beginning semicolon “;”.


Once changes done in the php.ini file, should be restarting the apache server. Stop and Start the Apache server in XAMPP.

Step 6: 

Next, click on Try Again button, its pass all checks and click next button.  Add necessary database, like Database Server Host, Database Server Username and Database Name.


Going to  http://localhost/phpmyadmin and create a new database(magento2).


Step 7:

 Web Configuration. Insert your Store Address here, also remember the Admin Address.


Step 8: 

Customize your Store. Change your Default Time Zone, Currency as well as Language here.


Step 9: 

Create Admin Account. This is your Admin Panel dashboard access account.


Step 10: 

You are ready to install. 


Click to Install Now button to complete the installation.

After complete the step, some layout crashing and image not showing properly. We will give the solution in the next post.
